Arborist Reports Cairns
Tree assessments and formal report coordination for Cairns Regional Council permit applications, insurance claims and boundary disputes across Cairns.
Council, an insurer, a builder or a neighbour can all ask for written tree advice before work can proceed in Cairns. The three most common triggers are a permit application that needs a tree assessment attached, an insurance claim requiring a qualified opinion on whether storm or cyclone damage actually caused a structural failure, or a boundary dispute where both owners need an independent view on the tree's condition.
On the front end we have a plain-English conversation at no charge. Tell us what has been requested and describe the tree. Often a formal written report is not actually needed and a standard quote from a qualified arborist covers what council is asking for. When a formal document is genuinely required we connect you with a consulting arborist who handles this kind of reporting full time and has the credentials to put their name on the cover page.
The report and any tree work that follows are invoiced separately. A consulting report is paid as advice — the outcome might be no work needed, partial pruning, or full removal. If the recommendation is removal and you would like our crew to handle it, we quote that as a separate job. If you would rather go elsewhere, the report stands on its own and does not commit you to using us.

Arborist Reports FAQs
Do I always need a formal arborist report in Cairns?
No. Most straightforward removals and pruning jobs need only a written quote from a qualified arborist, not a consulting report. Reports are needed when council, an insurer, a legal process or a planning application specifically asks for written advice with a qualified signature. Tell us what has been requested and we will advise whether a formal report is actually required.
Who writes the report?
A consulting arborist with the credentials and professional standing to put their name on the document. We are a tree-removal crew, not consulting arborists. We connect you with someone who does this full time, inspects the tree themselves, and signs off in their own right.
How long does a report take?
Usually one to two weeks from the first site inspection through to a finished document. If the deadline is tight — an insurance claim, a council application closing soon — ring us early and we'll ask the consultant about a faster turnaround.
Is the report fee separate from the cost of any tree work?
Yes, always. The report is paid as advice and the recommendation is independent of who quotes the work. If the report says the tree needs to come down and you'd like us to do it, we provide a separate quote for that. You are under no obligation to use our crew just because we coordinated the report.
